Performance Opportunities
- Woodwind Chamber Music – All undergraduate and graduate students coach with wind faculty in woodwind chamber music, which meets twice a week. Intensive focus in chamber music builds musicianship and translates over to artistic performances in large ensembles and develops a knowledge of the standard woodwind repertoire within the context of the degree plan. Students share the gift of music with the community, performing around Baylor, at nursing homes, in museums and in the public schools.
- Woodwind Hour – There are weekly solo performance opportunities in front of woodwind faculty and peers who give constructive feedback.
- Waco Symphony – The woodwind area holds auditions every year for the Waco Symphony second wind positions (flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon). Students have the opportunity to audition and the winners get to experience a position in a professional orchestra and perform with their professors.
