Minor in Music
Any undergraduate student at Baylor University, in any major other than music, may elect to minor in music by completing at least 21 semester hours (Academic Minor) or 24 semester hours (Church Music Minor) as outlined in the Academic Minor and Church Music Minor Degree Plan Checklists. The Academic Minor in Music is designed to broaden the educational experience of students by providing a variety of musical experiences. No audition or other special admission procedure is needed to enter the Academic Minor. The prospective Church Music minor must consult with the Director of the Church Music Program prior to beginning church music courses. The purpose of this meeting is to establish a relationship with the church music faculty and to discuss the student’s purpose in pursuing this degree.
Those wanting to minor in music must take the Music Theory Placement Diagnostic.
