Chamber Singers
Course Number: MUEN 1105/5005
Rehearsal Schedule: TR 12:30-1:45pm
Conductor: Kristina MacMullen, DMA
Comprised of around 20 of Baylor’s finest singers, this elite chamber choir focuses on developing choral artistry and a high level of musical fluency through mastery of a wide variety of repertoire—from the Renaissance through modern works—preparing young singers for future professional careers in singing and teaching. Recent members of the Baylor Chamber Singers have received contracted positions with professional choral ensembles such as the Phoenix Chorale and Transept, and young artist programs like the Voces8 Academy and Aspen Music Festival Professional Choral Institute. Founded over 55 years ago by the late conductor/composer, Dr. Robert Young, the Baylor Chamber Singers are a pillar of choral tradition at Baylor University. The ensemble frequently performs on campus in the exceptional acoustics of the Foyer of Meditation in the Armstrong Browning Library, a space exquisite in sound and visual aesthetic, and the site of the beloved annual Chamber Singers Christmas Concerts.
Membership open to all full-time students, sophomores through graduate students, by audition.
