Church Music Master's

MM in Church Music

MM in Church Music

Worship planning and leadership are not simply a question of which music to select. New worship styles emerge with each generation. Ministerial leadership in such an environment requires well-grounded theological and musical understanding. Ministers of music and worship are ministers first and musicians second. Interpreting the current environment and leading with biblical and theological integrity is as important for the minister of music as it is for the pastor. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact The Center for Christian Music Studies (CCMS@baylor.edu).

The Master of Music in Church Music program at Baylor is designed to bring students to the highest levels of performance and scholarship. Each student can choose one of five tracks on which to focus their studies: Church Ministry, Composition, Conducting, Performance, or Thesis. The expectations of the Master of Music in Church Music, along with the courses available for each track, is explained in the Degree Plan.
