Kelly Jo Hollingsworth, PhD

Kelly Jo Hollingsworth is Associate Professor of Elementary Music Education at Baylor. She holds degrees from the University of Mobile (BS) and Auburn University (MEd and PhD). Dr. Hollingsworth has 17 years of early childhood and elementary classroom experience and was chosen as Teacher of the Year at three different schools. She was selected as the Elementary Teacher of the Year for Auburn City Schools and Alabama District II. During 13 years teaching in Auburn City Schools, Dr. Hollingsworth hosted over 60 university students as lab students or interns in her classroom. Dr. Hollingsworth completed Kodály Level I and Orff-Schulwerk Levels I, II, III, and Master Class certifications. She has presented research and led instructional clinics at the Alabama MEA conference. Her research interests include increasing instructional efficiency for rhythmic instruction. Dr. Hollingsworth served in various leadership roles within the Alabama Music Educators Association for 10 years.
