George Palton, DMA

Dr. George Palton brings to the Baylor School of Music a wealth of experience in higher education as both a faculty member and an administrator, with a proven track record of driving initiatives that enhance enrollment, admissions, and student success. Previously serving as the Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator at the University of Memphis' Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music, Dr. Palton implemented data-driven strategies that led to record enrollment numbers and a 53% increase in applications within two years. His leadership has also improved scholarship yield rates by 70% and strengthened student retention initiatives. Dr. Palton is a sought-after expert in admissions and enrollment, most recently presenting at the Music Admissions Roundtable Conference in Interlochen, MI.
Before the University of Memphis, Dr. Palton served as Associate Director of Admission for the School of Music at DePauw University, where he developed innovative recruitment strategies and expanded the institution's reach. As a faculty member, he has taught at multiple universities, bringing firsthand experience in student engagement and academic mentorship.
