This program is intended to assist with projects that make a meaningful contribution to the faculty member’s professional development, to their discipline, and to the mission of Baylor and the School of Music.
Closing date: January 16, 2026
Application Evaluation Rubric
- Scholarly/Creative Merit – Is the project well-defined and meaningful within its discipline?
- Impact – Does it contribute to faculty growth, student opportunities, or the broader field?
- Feasibility – Is the timeline realistic? Can the budget effectively support the project?
- Alignment with Institutional Priorities – Does the project support the stated goals of Baylor and the School of Music?
Eligibility
Funding is open to all full-time, permanent faculty members.
Budget
The funding cycle for awarded proposals begins on June 1 and ends on May 31. All project activities and budget expenditures must occur on or after this date.
Funding is intended to support expenses directly incurred during the project. This program does not provide funding for investigators’ salary.
If your proposal depends on other sources of funding (grants, departmental funds, external awards, etc.), please note that approval of this award would be contingent on confirmation of those additional funds being received.
Follow-up Requirements
Each faculty member who receives funding is required to submit a one-page report by August 1 following the June-May funding cycle. The report should briefly summarize the project activities, outcomes, dissemination, and the ways in which the funding supported the work. Reports should be submitted to the Faculty Scholarship Committee.
