Corinne Penner, DMA
Visiting Lecturer in Collaborative Piano
Corinne Penner’s performances have taken her across Europe and the United States to venues such as Seiji Ozawa Hall, Museo del Violino, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, and Colburn’s Zipper Hall. Her multi-faceted career embraces the solo piano, chamber music, and art song repertoire, with recent recital engagements at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Oxford Lieder Festival, the Music by Women Festival, and the Civic Morning Musicals Concert Series.
Penner is the grateful recipient of fellowships & other awards from the Tanglewood Music Center, the Aspen Music Festival, the Franz-Schubert-Institut, the Koch Cultural Trust, and the Performing Arts Consortium. Most recently, she and tenor Morgan Manifacier were awarded the 2022 John Kerr Award Duo Prize for their all-English recital program at Lauderdale House in London. Penner’s commitment to art song has led to classes and coachings with Elly Ameling, Renée Fleming, Dawn Upshaw, Christoph Prégardien, and many other vocal luminaries.
Corinne holds a DMA in Piano Performance from Stony Brook University and previously taught at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her teachers include Christina Dahl, Ann Schein, and Li-Shan Hung.
