Jamie Van Eyck, DMA

JAMIE VAN EYCK is Associate Professor of Voice and Vocal Studies Division Director at Baylor University. She is a mezzo-soprano and maintains an active international performance career, having been called “eloquent and exquisite” by the New York Times and praised by Opera News for performances that are “luminescent and touching.” She holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and she earned Master of Music degrees in both Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the New England Conservatory of Music. Dr. Van Eyck is a sought-after guest clinician and has recently given vocal workshops and master classes for organizations including Opera America, Red River Lyric Opera, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Arizona State University, and the University of Memphis. She has been featured at the renowned Tanglewood Music Festival, Santa Fe Opera, Ojai Festival, Bard Music Festival, Princeton Festival, Toronto’s Luminato Festival, Moscow’s Golden Mask Festival, and the Grahamstown and FynArts Festivals in South Africa. She has been a soloist with many of the nation’s top orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, American Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, Utah Symphony, Lexington Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, and Pacific Symphony. She can be heard on numerous commercial recordings, and she has sung leading roles with Boston Lyric Opera, Arizona Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Austin Opera, Utah Opera, Madison Opera, Wolf Trap Opera Company, and Opera Theater of Saint Louis, among others. Dr. Van Eyck’s students have been winners of prestigious national vocal competitions and vocal scholarship winners at top universities and conservatories across the country.
