Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Jing-Fang Huang is a versatile collaborative pianist and vocal coach whose career spans instrumental, vocal, chamber, opera, and orchestral repertoire. Currently serving as Lecturer in Collaborative Piano at Baylor University, her artistry is rooted in the philosophy that a collaborative pianist is equally a performer, musical partner, mentor, and educator.

Prior to her appointment at Baylor, Dr. Huang served as a collaborative pianist at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) and as an adjunct piano professor at Pellissippi State Community College. At UTK, she collaborated extensively across the university's musical landscape, serving as a vocal coach for the UT Opera Theatre and partnering with both vocal and instrumental studios. Equally at home in chamber music, she performs frequently with renowned faculty and guest artists; recent highlights include recitals with Adam Unsworth, Elizabeth Freimuth, Jaren Atherholt, and Ryan Yamashiro, as well as chamber music collaborations with Knoxville Symphony Orchestra musicians I-Pei Lin, Adam Ayers, and Devan Jaques. Dedicated to advancing contemporary repertoire and community engagement, she recently premiered James Devor’s Three Views on Baldness with mezzo-soprano Jeannette Lee at SongSlam in Minneapolis, co-directed a recital celebrating Maurice Ravel alongside bass-baritone Stephen Salters, and founded a chamber music series connecting local professionals at First Baptist Church Knoxville, where she also served as a rehearsal pianist. Additionally, she has played in masterclasses for internationally renowned artists such as Paul Kantor and Jinjoo Cho.

A fixture at prestigious festivals and conferences, Dr. Huang has served as a staff pianist for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the North American Saxophone Alliance, the Southeastern Horn Conference, Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Conservatory Audition Workshop. Her artistic development is further highlighted by her participation in elite programs such as the Bowdoin International Music Festival—where she was a Collaborative Piano Fellow—the Source Song Festival, and the Collaborative Piano Institute. Through these programs, she has worked closely with distinguished luminaries including Warren Jones, Margo Garrett, Kathleen Kelly, Pei-Shan Lee, Myra Huang, Arlene Shrut, and Ana María Otamendi.

In the studio, Dr. Huang is deeply committed to nurturing thoughtful, confident musicians. Drawing upon her rich, multidisciplinary experience, she empowers her students to cultivate stylistic awareness, profound musical curiosity, and authentic communication.
