Concert: A Night of Fairy Tales
A collaborative performance hosted by the School of Music and students from the German Language and Culture Department.
This concert will celebrate the rich tradition of fairy tales in German culture through classical music and other works of art. Fairy tales have long been an integral part of German culture, woven into its history and storytelling traditions. The performance will feature musical selections alongside artistic projects created by German language students in Sharon Weiner’s class, taking the audience on a magical journey through the centuries of fairy tale storytelling. The concert will feature School of Music faculty members Ran Kampel, DJ Cheek, Jamie Van Eyck, Michael Clark, Kathleen Kelly, and Byunghee Yoo, who will present German art songs and instrumental music by 19th-century and contemporary German composers. The audience will be invited to interact with the music performed and share their own experiences of the magical tales brought to life through the music.
This event is free and open to the public. Students receive recital credit. Watch livestream >
